Preston Basketball Club celebrated a fantastic season with a memorable Awards Evening held on Friday 16th May, bringing together players, coaches, families, and supporters to honour the achievements of the Junior teams and individuals.

The event, hosted at the Garner Hotel, Samlesbury, was an impressive showcase of the club’s growth and success over the past year with over 260 guests attending the evening. Players from the Junior squads from Under 7 through to Under 16 Boys and U18 Girls came together to celebrate a fantastic season.

Awards were presented for Most Valuable Player (MVP), Most Improved Player, Defensive Player and Coaches’ Player of the Year and many more across all age groups.

Club Directors' Andy Thrower and Sam Fitzpatrick hosted the evening celebrating all the great achievements of the Junior teams and Andy had this to say on the season “This evening isn’t just about trophies - it's about recognising the hard work, commitment, and community that make this club special. We’re proud of every player who wore the Preston jersey this season and especially grateful to our parents, coaches, officials and volunteers for their unwavering support.”

The club special achievement award was awarded to the Girls who's impressive season led them to winning their league and reaching the play off final for the first time in the club's history.

The special Directors Award was given to long-serving coach and player Craig Wright, who has dedicated many years to the club, mentoring generations of young athletes. This award recognised the hard work, efforts, and commitment of Craig across many years but in particular the season just gone where he has taken a lead role in developing the younger talent at the club.

As the evening wrapped up with a mix of celebration and reflection, there was a clear sense of excitement for what lies ahead. Preston Basketball Club looks to build on its momentum and continue inspiring a new wave of talent next season and beyond.
