As part of the expanding talent pathway within the club and combined with the joint venture with the team at Myerscough College, we are delighted to announce the success of some of our youngest ballers at the recent Under 11 3x3 Aspire event held at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester.
The Aspire programme is the first step in the elite talent pathway put in place by our governing body Basketball England. It is designed to highlight the most talented players at various age groups at the clubs on a regional basis. Involvement in these sessions is typically through nominations from the coaches of the clubs alongside performance in national and regional league competition.
The session this past weekend had 5 attendees from Preston and Myerscough who took part in a 3x3 event with one of our girls sadly missing out through injury where she will attend a later session when recovered. The event was a great success and will form the template for future events. The boys did us proud and got a taste of the highest level of competition in our region to help push them on further.
We are delighted the club is having a greater impact on these events which is testament to the hard work of our players and commitment of their parents and family combined with the move to multiple sessions a week for most age groups and the coaching support of our Myerscough colleagues.
To learn more about the pathway please see here. To discuss the potential future involvement of your child please speak with your coaches and most importantly please help to instill hard work and keeness to develop in your young ones.
Here's to getting more and more representation at future events.
