An opportunity presented itself for the two squads to play out an official friendly and sharpen their play ready for the final push of a long grueling season. The second team came out on top with some fast transition play and dominance over the boards against a much smaller-sized squad. Not without displays of real quality from them though. In particular, Stan finished strong through traffic throughout, Ihor flashed some lovely outside shooting and Kearne had spells of real aggression with the ball in hand. Ultimately though, the relentless nature of this seconds team eventually wore the thirds out and there were sprinklings of brilliance from Diddy in particular; his touch around the basket a joy to watch. Nathaniel was hugely dominant around the basket throughout, Lincoln began to find his range from deep, Matt and Tom played well in extended minutes and Ali finished with power in transition, making the most of a start with a double-digit output.
Hugely positive experience for all involved and hopefully will be of huge benefit to both squads moving forward.
Top scorers: Nathaniel 15, Ewan 13, Lincoln 11, Ali and Diddy 10.
