Preston Basketball Club players gain huge success in County Cup Finals.

Alongside competing for our club, many of our junior players represent their school and compete in school games. This year, in particular, two schools have had a very successful run in the County Cup - Longridge High School and Archbishop Temple. Across the two schools, six U14 players compete for their schools in both the U14 and U16 age groups. Both schools had a tough run-up to the final, beating schools with considerable basketball talent to meet each other in the finals on Friday, 9th February. What makes this even more impressive is that the schools met in the finals in the U14 and U16 age groups!

The finals took place on Friday and saw a fierce battle from both competitors. The U16 final was first, and Archbishop Temple took the win. Some great performances were had from our boys, both current and former players! Next up was the U14 final. Despite Longridge High School's victory, an Archbishop player (and current U14 NL player) secured the MVP award. At the end of the day, both schools went home with a trophy and some proud teachers.

As a club, we love celebrating the success of our players. Success at a school level comes from having a great relationship with the local schools, and both Longridge and Archbishop have nurtured a partnership with the club for many years. We look forward to the future success of the schools, and congratulate all of our players who have found success in their school games.
